4th BARACHOIS SUMMER MUSIC ACADEMY
August 5th to 15th 2020
Presented in collaboration with the Université de Moncton Music Department, in the heart of Canada’s Maritime Provinces, the Barachois Summer Music Vocal Arts Academy offers young singers and pianists the unique opportunity to explore recital repertoire. Emphasizing Canadian music and vocal chamber works, the program is a perfect way for artists to grow while perfecting a predetermined program, all the while gaining valuable performing experience in front of enthusiastic audiences. The Academy offers two programs, both leading to concerts in the exceptional Barachois Historic Church, as well as in other locations throughout the Maritime Provinces.
EMERGING ARTISTS PROGRAM
(August 6th to 15th)

Geared towards singers embarking on a career in performance (holding at least an undergraduate degree)

Enrollment limited to 4 singers (SATB) and 2 pianists

Focusing on Canadian art song, as well as French, German, English and Italian duos and quartets

Daily coachings and masterclasses with sopranos Nathalie Paulin and Monica Whicher, and pianists Julien LeBlanc and Laura Loewen
STUDENT ARTISTS PROGRAM
(August 5th to 13th)

Geared towards singers currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree

Enrollment limited to 8 singers and 2 to 4 pianists

Focusing on Canadian art song, as well as French, German, English and Italian duos and trios

Daily coachings and masterclasses with sopranos Nathalie Paulin and Monica Whicher, and pianists Julien LeBlanc and Laura Loewen
